Marianne Rafter is a New York based advertising, editorial and fine arts photographer serving the world community with portrait, travel, food and lifestyle imagery.
As a native of Norway and being "Americanized" for the last 20 years her vision has the perfect blend of Scandinavian honest clean precision, European warmth and American unassuming boldness. 
Marianne is a regular contributor to Time Out NY photographing not only celebrity chefs, food, restaurants and interiors but also portraits for the ongoing Gallerist Guide Series.  Her work has graced the covers of Photo District News (PDN), GO Magazine, Girl and Gym Magazine and she continues to contribute to editorial publications such as;
New York Times, Stern, Town & Country, Wine Spectator, Plenty, Glamour, Market Watch and Food Arts.
She illustrated the book “Hardwear, Jewelry from a Toolbox” with fashion forward photographs published by STC Craft/Melanie Falick Books and Marianne's flower images was featured in the coffee table book Flora by Graphis.
Advertising and In-House clients include; Gail Schoenberg Public Relations, WindUp Design, Moss, Golf by Claudia Romana, Studio Museum of Harlem, Charivari,
New York Focus Group, Camilla Slattery Design, Manhattan Athletic Club and many New York landmark restaurants.
Marianne came to New York in 1991 to attend Parsons The New School for Design and completed her degree in 1996.  She was mentored by the late legendary fashion photographer Francesco Scavullo and fortunate to work as his assistant.
Currently serving on the board of APA|NY (American Photographic Artists), Marianne is also the New York Chapter Membership Chair.
